Goa Waterfall, Chatra

Goa Waterfall is one of Chatra's lovely offbeat nature spots, especially if you enjoy places that still feel a little raw and local. The waterfall lies about 6 km west of Chatra town, on the way towards Maloodah. The first part of the journey is motorable, after which you have to walk roughly 1.5 km through the natural surroundings to reach the falls. When you finally reach the waterfall, the landscape opens into a rocky setting with water dropping around 30 feet into a natural reservoir, with rocks rising on three sides. The enclosed shape of the rocks gives the place a surprisingly intimate feel. During the monsoon, the water becomes more lively and the surrounding forest turns beautifully green. It is also a popular local picnic spot, particularly during Shravan Mondays, when devotees and visitors come here in large numbers.
