Lodh Waterfall (Budha Ghagh)

Lodh Waterfall is not a place you visit only for the waterfall. The journey through the forest is a big part of the experience. As you move deeper into the Mahuadanr forest landscape, the roads become quieter, the greenery gets thicker and the sound of civilisation slowly disappears. Then comes the sound of falling water, long before the full waterfall comes into view. Locally known as Budha Ghagh, the water plunges about 143 metres (469 feet) in multiple cascading steps, making it the highest waterfall in Jharkhand. The waterfall is fed by the Burha River and sits within a heavily forested landscape that forms part of the wider Palamau Tiger Reserve ecosystem. Once you reach the falls, take your time. Walk along the designated trail, listen to the water echoing through the valley, photograph the massive rock formations and simply enjoy how wild and quiet the place feels.
