Dewri Mandir

Dewri Mandir is an ancient temple dedicated to Maa Dewri, a sixteen-armed form of Goddess Durga/Kali. Located in Diuri village near Tamar on the Ranchi-Tata Highway, the temple is believed to be around 700 years old. Its original shrine was constructed using large stones placed together without cement or binding material, preserving its distinctive ancient architecture. The temple is also known for its unique tradition in which tribal Pahans and Brahmin priests participate in worship. Devotees tie red and yellow sacred threads to bamboo structures as part of their prayers and return to untie them when their wishes are fulfilled.
