The Story

Jagannath Mandir is a historic 17th-century temple dedicated to Lord Jagannath, located on a small hillock at Jagannathpur in Dhurwa, Ranchi. Built in 1691 by Thakur Ani Nath Shahdeo, the temple's architecture is inspired by the famous Jagannath Temple of Puri. Visitors can climb to the hilltop temple to experience its peaceful spiritual atmosphere, admire the traditional architecture and enjoy a beautiful bird's-eye view of Ranchi city. The temple is especially vibrant during the annual Rath Yatra, when a grand procession and fair attract thousands of devotees and visitors.
